Introduction to the Reset Programme

Increase your confidence, self esteem, sense of worth and overall life quality.

Do you remember what it was like being a toddler? You had this burning fire for life. You were curious about everything. You were excited about your future with endless possibilities open to you.

As we get older, our burning fire for life slowly starts to diminish. As our caregivers, communities, the media and social expectations shape us, we forget our true selves, our true power and our ability to create.

The reset programme has been specifically developed to claim back your fire for life and it’s endless opportunities.  The programme will effectively facilitate personal growth and clarity in women over 40 who look back on their life with disappointment. Women who want to start over; this time living a less mentally and emotionally encumbered journey.

You will journey into discovering who you truly are and not who you were led to believe you are. 

You will discover your true strength and develop a healthier, more loving and respectful relationship with yourself, attracting the right people and opportunities into your life.

You’ll less likely be the target of bullying or disrespect and will begin to experience richer interactions and life outcomes.

You will feel more confident in your abilities to try something new with less fear of moving forwards.

You will have your own back and no fear in saying ‘No’. 

It will be easier for you to recognise what is NOT for you and you’ll have no problems removing it from yourself or yourself from it.

You will not be so concerned about what other people are thinking about you and will not be easily intimidated by those in so-called powerful positions. 

You will not be afraid to be yourself because you will now know yourself, accept yourself and know that  you are enough.

Why 40?

It’s when we reflect more on what we’ve achieved in life. Wives, mothers, daughters and career women, start to question their self identity which has all too easily, for many, gotten lost in being the dutiful wife, mother, daughter or employee.  

Many of us were raised by emotionally unintelligent parents unable to take our emotions and opinions into consideration and so entered into adulthood without having received accurate feedback about our true selves. 

Example, a child who is shouted at for minor occurrences and is not allowed to voice their opinions are more likely to grow into an adults who believe they are not worth listening to, that their opinions count for nothing and that they are somehow not a good or capable person, because they often got things wrong during their formative years (or so they were led to believe).  You see how easy it is to mess up a child!

It is my belief that many women are still suffering the legacy of this type of childhood experience and some aren’t even aware of the damage. They just think it’s how their life and themselves are supposed to be. 

This is a crying shame.

  • Your journey starts by identifying all the beliefs you currently hold about yourself before establishing the false attributes and moving onto clearly defining the true you.

  • Next, we will pinpoint the unhelpful elements that are holding you back from progressing and being respected before working on removing them from your life… they have no place in where you are going.  

I’d like to point out here that the biggest culprit in holding anyone back is ‘Fear’, so we will work extensively on fear by understanding fear, ‘The more knowledge you have about something, the more control you have over it’. We’ll identify what you fearful of and why, and deal with what we find, together.  Too many of our sisters are convinced that they suffer from procrastination, something that in my opinion, does not exist in its own right. I strongly believe that the term ‘Procrastination’ is misleading in its role as a diagnosis as it delineates from identifying and working on the accurate cause – fear.

All human beings need some kind of goal to work towards in order to give our life purpose.  We will establish your goals by working out what you most need and desire to achieve in your life.

You’ll soon be able to see your hard work paying off in:

  • Improved interactions with other people, resulting in more positive outcomes.

  • No longer being the target for bullying or disrespect.

  • Having more confidence in your abilities to try something new with less fear of moving forwards.

  • Being able to stick up for yourself and say ‘No’ without fear.

  • Being able to recognise what is NOT for you and have no problems removing it from yourself or yourself from it.

  • Not being concerned with what other people are thinking about you.

  • Not being easily intimidated by those in so-called powerful positions.

  • Not being afraid to be yourself … because, you will now know yourself and accept yourself for what and who you are regardless of what other people have to say.

  • Being able to respond to someone who believes they have the upper in pointing out one of your weaknesses, ‘Yes, you’re right’ (every time I do this it renders the ‘antagonist’ speechless – good!).

Not everything that you discover about yourself will be ‘smelling of roses’ so our next step will be to work on you achieving a strong sense of self-acceptance which will invariably increase your sense of self worth, confidence, resilience and self-belief. You will very shortly see the difference in how other people interact with you.  

Structure of the programme

Duration: 8 weeks

Sessions: 90 minute weekly (same day and time each week recommended)

Location: Zoom 

 

At the end of each session, you will be given a set of questions to think about and answer during the week. We will go over your answers in the following session which will serve as a compass to direct us to getting closer to the core reality and issues that are a part of the real you.

Each session will take you closer to being clearer about yourself, living in your truth and feeling stronger by employing a variety of self development tools such as meditation, visualisation and role play. 

If you are feeling a bit anxious right now about the prospect of taking part in role play then, you are not on your own. This is a common response I encounter with each client in the beginning. I too get a bit anxious but I make a decision to go with the flow because it actually works…really well and I have found that within seconds we are both immersed in the play and all thoughts of nervousness have flown out the window. Role play is an essential part of this programme as it primes you for the actual ‘living’ of what you have learnt and gives you the opportunity to practice being the new (which is actually the ‘real’) you.

NOTE:
…it is really important to feel safe and free to discuss absolutely anything you want within this programme; our aim here is to get to the bare bone truth. This will not happen if you feel as though you have to hold things back because of embarrassment or fear of being judged. There is NO judgement here (I am not God), there is NO shock here (I am very open-minded and believe I’ve heard it all before now). I truly believe that we should all be able to fully express ourselves without feeling afraid or stifled or ashamed of ourselves and our experiences.  Human perfection only exists in poor fiction.

All too often, many of us overlook the small concerns for the larger ones, not realising that the non-addressed small things have a tendency to accumulate in the background and can eventually become overwhelming. 

I used to do this all the time and I’d find myself – out of nowhere – feeling anxious for no reason, or so I thought. 

In working through finding the cause of the anxiety, I’d discover that there were a bunch of issues swimming around in the background that I would have to deal with one by one before getting back to feeling normal again.
